Open Question: What mixes make the best guard dogs? ALSO any tips on training an Italian Grey? She's being a snot!?

I don't want a dog that will cower in the corner if someone breaks in. I already have a little Italian Grey, but she won't be of any help. I want a puppy that'll be a good friend to her too. I've owned pure-breds most of my life, but they always seem to have a lot of problems. I owned a Shepard, she's passed away now, but she was the best dog I've ever had. I knew she'd protect me no matter what, and I want that in a dog again. Also she was VERY easy to train, and I'd like that again in my next dog. Sadly she had the hip problems the breed is renowned for. I live in the Colorado Rockies, and need one that can handle the temperatures and likes to get out and play in the mountains. I'm getting a house with a yard so the dog can have plenty of exercise. Also any tips on training my Grey? She's a snot and I just CAN'T seem to get her to listen to me, she just does whatever she wants to do!... read more
